Discipline, Integrity, Respect
The Martial Virtue Alliance was established in May of 2011 during a meeting of 26 like minded Black Belts from Canada and the USA. Our black belts bring decades of experience in a variety of martial arts disciplines. The founding members of our organization are all associated by the teachings of Grand Master Michael Clark. Grand Master Clark has been teaching Moo Duk Kwan Tae Kwon Do for 40 years. His teaching philosophy is that of simple yet effective martial arts. Grand Master Clark adheres to the traditional methods of teaching maintaining the integrity of the art, respecting its traditions, martial arts etiquette, and ethics.
The Martial Virtue Alliance Schools have been loosely associated with each other for the past 20 years. The MVA solidifies our connection to each other. The association to Grand Master Clark varies by school. Some school owners have trained directly under Grand Master Clark, while other have been taught by former students of Grand Master Clark who have since retired from teaching. Each school teaches a core curriculum of Moo Duk Kwan Tae Kwon Do based on Grand Master Clark's teachings. These teachings are the base for rank advancements.
The purpose of the Martial Virtue Alliance is to provide structure and legitimacy to promotions within the organization. It also provides an avenue for students (including black belts with no instructors) to continue in their martial arts journey of learning and rank advancement.
